Enjoying Greeneland (a.k.a. Capri, the isle where Graham Greene had a home). Thinking of buying it for the United States and making it the 51st state. If the Italian prime minister doesn’t sell, I won’t meet with him.

It is pretty much disqualifying isnt it? If candidate doesn’t fire person or repudiate/apologize he’s complicit in this monumentally false, Trump-level crazy accusation.

After Trump’s egregious anti- Semitism and GOP silence I really don’t want to hear from them ever again on antiSemitism. They use Jews when convenient and otherwise empower a racist president.

the stage will still be too crowded for my tastes, but if the number is kept to 10, we’ll at least have ended the ordeal of two nights and have a shot at a more reasoned, informative debate.

the Medicare-for-all crowd won’t get away with dismissing the majority of people on stage as timid or lacking bold idea and be compelled to answer on the merits and explain why no choice (single-payer) is better than a choice for Medicare,

there is critical mass of center-left candidates (Biden, Buttigieg, Harris, Booker, Klobuchar and O’Rourke) to make the case that this is a contest not to make the biggest change but rather to do the most for the most people

while the field ideally might have gotten down to a more manageable six or seven contenders, the rules did mean the apparent elimination of minor, desperate candidates (I’m looking at you, Mayor Bill de Blasio, and you, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard)

American Jews overwhelmingly voted against Trump cause vote their values: opposition to racism, concern for the poor and the stranger, and reverence for rule of law. That rules out voting to reelect Trump, but also Rs who carry Trump’s water.

Trump’s indulgence of Israel stems not from any love of the Jewish people, but from a desire to help a kindred nationalist leader and an even greater desire to thrill his evangelical followers.

Trump tweeted approval of a racist conspiracy-monger’s assertion that Trump should be treated as the Jews’ Messiah (an affront on many levels, not to mention that Jews do not believe in a Messiah in human form):

Trump cares so deeply about Israel that he couldn’t possibly be anti-Semitic, say his supporters. His grandchildren are Jewish so he cannot be an anti-Semite. He hired many Jewish advisers, so he cannot be an anti-Semite. Wrong, wrong, wrong.
