Granular cell tumor excised from the right side of the neck in a 19-year-old man. S100 shows strong, diffuse nuclear and cytoplasmic staining, supporting the notion that these tumors are of Schwann cell origin. Recent studies reveal that GCTs harbor mutations in ATP6AP1/ATP6AP2.
