Many haven’t figured out how to be happy, yet. Sounds like taking the moral high ground on that, but perhaps there’s also truth in it.

With how fast tooling setup is these days, is speed of setup and development still a valid point for interpreted, dynamically typed languages over compiled, statically typed ones?

In one of my side-projects I have to loop through a bunch of proxies when making requests so that it's not so simple to nail down and block a single IP. I built and shared it. API: chosenProxy, res, err := proxy.RequestWithRandomProxy(request)

Yep it’s not the syntax, it’s about the best practices, tooling etc. Still in your journey of trying to build the same non-simplistic project again you will likely encounter the same areas to focus on like the tools etc. Still haven’t needed a book, just discussions with devs.

this is a non-starter. where are people going to derive their sense of self-worth from, if not for IG likes?

I don't need FaceApp to show me what I'll look like when I'm aged and nearly dead... I just look in the mirror after sprint planning.

I agree on online tutorials being crap in general, I don’t really use or recommend many. Most is in Stackoverflow answers (and comments), though ;-) I found everything from books is available online but you have to cross reference between other online resources which takes time.

If you’re asking for books or resources on “learning a language” you just need to learn how to learn! The internet’s right in front of you (Google / Stackoverflow). Try to build something you’ve already built in another language, piece by piece, learning as you go along

Very excited to announce that the Microsoft Security Response Center has been investigating as a safe alternative for systems programming and is recommending the entire software industry take a serious look into it. Stay tuned for more blog posts in the coming days!

Today my team successfully deployed to production and everything's running smoothly. Key takeaway which I made sure we implemented this time: deploy small, tested functionality SOON - don't try and get it all out of the door in one go - I've tried this before and failed.
