I’ve also seen developers use outdated, insecure, and difficult to work with tech because they are afraid all the new stuff is just cool. They also end up overengineering things defending themselves with a “it’s always been done this way” and not asking “should we be doing this?”

I think every need to read The Future of Capitalism by Paul Collier. Capitalism needs to be fixed not replaced, the right and left need to wake up and start pursuing an ethical capitalist model.

It took me 7 hours and a lot of useless Googling to figure out how to code something today. The end result was 3 lines of code. I may have 15 years of programming experience, but it's days like today that remind me I'm no different from those learning from scratch.
