The EU announces up to €43 million to help clear Somalia’s arrears to international financial institutions. This means Somalia becomes eligible for forgiveness of most its debt of + US$5 billion, under the Heavily Indebted Poor Countries (HIPC) Initiative.

For essential travel by medical personnel, immediate family members of Irish citizens, persons legally resident in 🇮🇪, and persons entitled to avail of the provision of the EU Free Movement Directive, complete your visa application online and contact the Embassy for instructions.

Kindly note that until further notice, the Embassy will not be accepting new visa applications. You will still be able to apply online, but you will not be able to complete the application process. Applications will only be processed for emergency or essential travel.
