1)The Labor left must not be diverted from critical analysis of inequality climate change and the power and privilege of the big end of town. Class is a huge issue and calls to abandon class warfare must not lead the left to capitulate to the excesses of capitalism.

There is systematic censorship around Manus&Nauru in the Aus media, that’s why the gov can continue this policy. BBC, CNN, AJ, France24, Time, WP, and many leading international media have reported the human crisis here, but only a few in Aus media have dared to.

That’s okay. Didn’t say that pensioners and poor can get private health insurance. Glad the “self funded retiree welfare recipients” will still have theirs and be able to afford their yachts and holidays.

We could have had pat dodson, the father of reconciliation as indigenous affairs minister 😭 We could have had a referendum for an indigenous voice to parliment and in our constitution. OMG, we could have had so much. My heart is still broken 💔😭😔

I am not upset because my team lost on Saturday night, I am upset because many more people are going to die, more people will be victimised, intimidated and humiliated, poverty and inequality will continue to grow as will high level corruption. That is why I am upset my team lost

"Australia is a lucky country run mainly by second rate people who share its luck." The only amendment I'd make to Donald Horne's scathing assessment from 55 years ago, is that second rate was too kind...third or fourth rate is more accurate. Exhibit A:

Australia is on track to soon spend more on franking credit refunds to retirees who don’t pay tax than it spends on public schools. No, this debate isn’t over.

Emeritus Professor Philip Almond’s piece on the five aspects of Pentecostalism influencing Scott Morrison's politics is essential reading. Worrying me most are the warped Pentecostal beliefs in Divine Providence, the Prosperity Gospel & Exclusivism
