Pernell Whitaker was supposed to leave Thursday for Vegas to do a meet & greet at MGM Grand before the Pacquiao-Thurman fight. He enjoyed doing those, reminiscing with fans about his career.

MSG & Barclays are close enough, but not many of these in Jersey anymore!

Both. Mielnicki's fans were all over the arena Saturday night. Most wearing his tee shirts.

The announced attendance at Prudential Center tonight for the Stevenson-Guevara card is 5,150. N.J. high school student Vito Mielnicki Jr., who scored a spectacular 1st-round KO on the undercard, sold more than 1,000 tickets to the show.

A ridiculous decision in the ShoBox main event tonight. Even worse, Jerry Forrest wore the look of someone who knew it was going to happen to him when the scores were announced. Forrest beat Jermaine Franklin, who somehow won 7 rounds on 2 cards (97-93, 97-93, 95-96).

If you missed Amir Khan-Billy Dib, consider yourself lucky. A welterweight overwhelmed a lightweight. Made a lot of money, obviously, but accomplished little else.

Now, in the 5th round, Peter has landed a combination of a low blow and 2 rabbit punches while the ref was trying separate him from Fury.

It's incredible Samuel Peter has never been disqualified. One of the filthiest fighters in boxing. Through four rounds, he has repeatedly hit Hughie Fury behind his head, hit him low & had a point deducted for hitting him when the ref was trying to separate them.

Main Events, Kovalev's promoter, & Golden Boy still are negotiating for a 9/14 fight. Golden has increased its initial offer twice, but they're still apart on the money. If they come 2 an agreement, Yarde will be paid a lot of money to step aside 4 fight that was announced today.

I just literally laughed out loud remembering Arturo Gatti, seated directly behind me, yelling out all kinds of expletive-filled instructions to during fight with in Montreal. Arturo was 1 of a kind. Sadly, 3 months later, he was gone.

Can't believe it's been 10 years since Arturo Gatti died. Boxing here in New Jersey was never the same without him.

That's a great question. He's ranked No. 4. Wonder if he'd accept that fight if Valdez vacates & the No. 2 & No. 3 contenders pass on fighting Stevenson.

If wins Saturday night, negotiations will begin right away 4 a Stevenson-Oscar Valdez fight 4 Valdez's WBO featherweight title. Valdez could decide to move up to 130 pounds. Then Stevenson, the WBO's mandatory challenger, would fight the next available contender.
