I think this site has .zip files you can download, but idk how to read them. iirc, I tried unzipping one and I didn’t have an application that could read any of the important files

I have to read all of Plato’s dialogues for a thing. does anyone know where I could gain access to them?

“we don’t have to agree on everything” in this context is less indicative of respectful tolerance than it is an attitude of “we’ll do whatever we want regardless of what you think”

thoughts on in-text citations in video essays? (Ex. “In their book ____, author ____ argues...”)

the optimistic but still deeply flawed original, the comfy wholesomeness of TNG, the chaotic instability of DS9, and the straight up weirdness of Voyager are deeply fascinating to me, but I need to rewatch all of the series to even begin to write something about all of them.

I want to make a video talking about all of the Star Trek series up until Enterprise, which I refuse to watch. the shows are all kind of weird, and I want to explain how and why

it is very rarely the case that The System is credited with a villain’s rehabilitation. in fact, to my knowledge, the desire to rehabilitate is often exploited by villains in order to escape

it’s in the style of “classic Christmas music that is entirely about how nostalgic and magical Christmas is”, but I’m avoiding some of my least favorite clichés (sexism, romance, rhyming “toys” with “girls and boys”, etc.)

on the one hand, they have a duty, took an oath, and could they live with themselves if they violated their highest ideals to get home? but on the other hand, how can they justify preventing hundreds of people from seeing their loved ones again just because of some regulations?

the thing I majorly respect is that because of the absence of the Federation, the Voyager crew has to grapple with moral predicaments much more than any other crew. do they violate their principles to get home? that’s not an easy question to answer in their position.

one early episode is about how maybe disliking war criminals who did genocide is actually cuz you’re a coward who doesn’t want to fight in war, and you should get over it, cuz really they aren’t that bad. see, they cried about it, isn’t that punishment enough?

Voyager is one of the weirder Star Trek shows. it has such a different vibe than the rest of them. I also disagree with its philosophical conclusions a lot more often than with other Trek shows.
