She jumped to her death. At Bernauer Strasse, a very simple and moving memorial to Ida Sieckman, who died after she jumped out the window of her apartment to go West. She was 58 and died on 22 August 1961. She was the 1st victim of the Wall, 9 days only after its erection

University, founded in 1409, is one of the oldest universities of the world... in very modern premices. Damaged by war, St. Paul’s Church & Augusteum have been demolished by the DDR regime. The new building (2012) reminds the beloved church. Angela studied there.
