Carol Shaw is video game developer, believed to be the first female video game designer. While working at Atari in 1978, Shaw designed the unreleased Polo game and designed 3-D Tic-Tac-Toe the same year, both for the Atari 2600. Her best-known game is River Raid.

Today's role model is Dorothy Vaughan an African American mathematician & human computer who worked for NACA and NASA. Vaughan prepared for the introduction of machine computers in the early 60s by teaching herself & her staff the programming language FORTRAN
