I think it’s because the community celebrates creators (even of unstable software) over those that maintain and continually improve software. Often companies recognize people in the same way. This is broken and a social behavior we need to strive to change.

One observation about Cloud providers: Despite intense competition between them, techies at these companies collaborate with each other and are often good friends. Not sure we have seen this before in our industry. Its a very good thing.
