Why do nerve cells fail to heal after SCI? One reason is the disruption of molecules that control the structure of the nerve cell. A recent study by ICORD researchers looks at KIF2A, a protein that inhibits molecules involved in the cell skeleton.

Seed grant leads to big award! Aziz Ghahary and his colleagues just had a grant funded by CIHR and NSERC for three years ($778,000). Dr Ghahary credits preliminary findings gathered using BICP-funded ICORD Seed Grants for his success in this funding competition.
