Discussions about organ donation are always hard for families, but it is easier for them if they know your wishes. This conversation is important, have it tonight.

Would any Nottingham business like to sponsor our first 5K Your Way, Move Against Cancer ambassadors conference on Saturday 23rd November? Aiming to work together to offer as an active support group to as many people living with and after cancer as possible.

what do you do with stuff left on planes arriving in Orlando? My son left his England cricket cap on the flight from Manchester yesterday, it’s not a big deal but if there’s an easy way of picking it up on our way home that would be great.

Flu is here now Nottingham. Need to get vaccinated ASAP if not already as immunity takes a few weeks to build, suspect we'll be in the thick of it by then!!

Nearly 50?! Wash your mouth out. We were both born in the same year and are still firmly in our EARLY 40s!

This is so true and not just of oncologists. The time effort and often emotion invested in patients needs to be recognised and managed sensitively when discussing prognosis and especially EOL care within the MDT.

Deeply worrying report, correctly highlighting the role of ill-conceived taxes in destroying cancer targets "the recent NHS pension tax controversy .. provides a strong disincentive ..to take on work beyond their contracted capacity, posing an unnecessary barrier" Needs fixing!

Men with children show no differences in pass rates and the same is not true for women with children. Women still undertake the majority of family work. And until men have access to equitable parental leave and social norms for men as equal parents changes, things won’t change

My take home from this week’s reading on accident investigations: We need to move from “What was so different about this case” to instead ask “What was so usual about this case?” What does it reveal about the usual pressures and risks, and how people normally navigate them.

I have a sort of similar case deeply engraved in my heart and soul. The baby, who wasn’t even born when I cared for mum, is now pretty much a grown up. I feel old!
