It is awful. This story first came to our attention when it was written about in The Guardian and we posted it in other groups and pages about two years ago. There needs to be a complete overhaul in the education system. 😡

To all the schools who are telling families of disabled children they can't come to school unless they are in a room, alone, on much reduced timetables or have restrictive practises imposed. I WILL call you all out. COVID-19 is no excuse to discriminate.

To think that a school felt it was ok to use a device like this on children with disabilities is beyond comprehension! We are glad that the outrage caused from the original tweet against this practice has saved the children in this school.

720 disabled children subjected to restraint & seclusion in school. Dehumanised and abused because they were using "challenging behaviour" to communicate their anxiety, stress and distress. They were crying for help. Hear their voices and make it stop.
