I wrote a Knicks thing (with new intel on a possible Masai Ujiri pursuit).
NEW YORK — The Knicks fired their head coach Friday, because of a ghastly record and a bunch of other reasons that could fill the next several paragraphs. But that would be a waste of time...

Excellent as always. But the Knicks can't have Masai. He's ours.

Thanks for the write-up. 2 serious Qs: 1 Why do you think no other team would’ve given Phil Jackson a chance at an exec role? 2 The roster construction is def on the front office, but what do you think would‘ve been a fair timeframe to evaluate Fiz (esp given this year’s group)?

1. So, there are a couple teams that used PJax as a consultant, which makes sense. The bball knowledge is invaluable. But running a front office is a massive job and requires a different skill set. I never thought that job suited him. 2. A coach deserves at least 2 full seasons.
