Rosa ‘Distant Drums’ a Floribunda I found locally. Depth of colors/hues is breathtaking. I’ve planted this one close to my patio. I could gaze at it for hours. Bred by the late Dr. Griffith J. Buck.

Beautiful! Have grown 'Distant Drums' about 15 years, a personal fave. Keep it for the unique color - though it isn't the most vigorous or floriferous. Grows very slowly, & has a tough time bouncing back after a harsh Winter - over the years have replaced at least 2 that died.

You should have seen me wandering around looking for a background that I like for contrast, this photo might be better. Planted every one of these lilacs many moons ago.

It’s easy. Just remove the spent blooms and cane down to the second or 3rd 5-leafset. If viable blooms still surround a spent one, just remove it until the others fade. Hope this helps!

Thinking of you guys and the great (and sometimes scary) adventure ahead of you both with new garden spaces when I was writing this tweet 💛

Yes, in a new garden space, spend plenty of time pottering about, enjoying the little successes, dreaming and chatting with others as you seek inspiration. It’s just as important as going and trying to do too much ... Here’s the potager in 2012 before it was todays potager ...

I’m quite happy! Do you have a video or blog about Floribunda and Grandiflora care? Especially old bloom removal.

We got an inch + Friday night. With so little precipitation it soaked right in.

Dahlia tubers went in yesterday (about 20). I’m way behind, but they’ll come up eventually. 😁
