THREAD: I was four months old, living in Pakistan, unaware of anyone or anything. One of my earliest memories is my parents, terrified, watching the news during the war on terror, seeing bombs, kids dying, and things I didn’t understand.

Pretty sure no one is becoming anti-climate activism because their commute got disrupted. And causing some commotion is key to peaceful protests, so what else do you suggest to raise awareness with not a lot of time to make massive action?

Everyone has their own story about how they came to doing justice work and I want to share part of mine. This is Richard Moore. He will be killed by the state of South Carolina on Dec 4. I worked on his case as part of the capital punishment clinic at Cornell Law School. 1/7

Again, the only fairy tale here is your own. It is possible, but you've been convinced it isn't, *when it is*.

Here's another: a majority of PA Democrats support a ban on fracking, Independents equally split, and even a good amount of Republicans support it. Even PA Republicans are about to lose a majority of Republicans who oppose fracking. So, it really looks like PAers are ok with ban

So again, how is banning fracking "radical"? It makes up a tiny portion of jobs in Pennsylvania, they support a ban on it, and Biden would've still won PA if he supported banning fracking. The fairy tale here is that a ban on fracking isn't possible, and that's your fairy tale

"I'm not interested in fairy tales where we get to say radical things" It is not a radical proposition. You've been convinced that by Trump who tried to make it an issue, when it isn't. But here's the kicker, the biggest state in fracking, Pennsylvania, supports ban on fracking.

That is a laughable question. nationalize the energy industry. prosecute every executive in Exxon, Shell, and more. Your proposition that the people responsible for climate change should be the ones in charge to fix it, is the most ridiculous thing I've heard

Because fracking is pollution... It's even banned in plenty of states. Do you want to keep polluting for 10 years to appease Republicans?

The funniest part is you're like "go off." Do you think fracking will stop on Jan 20, 2021? No, it'll likely continue for years. Fracking will continue in the Biden administration, and it'll destroy ecosystems, pollute groundwater, and even cause earthquakes. Sooo go off.

That's a terrible argument. You're essentially arguing that fracking won't be outlawed, it'll just become redundant as more R&D goes into renewables. Hate to break it to you, but R&D takes years, and in that mean time you'll keep polluting groundwater via fracking.

Further, appointing a guy whose current job is to evaluate asset damage to multi billionaire dollar companies, do you think this guy is going to be more concerned for you buying a house near the coast, or Exxon building a plant near the coast? My bet is the latter

"Dems don't need pressure to address climate change" Dems: okay with the continuation of fracking Make it make sense.
