I simply would never have found the topic of my PhD thesis without 's scholarship and support; and she encouraged me to resume research and turn it into my first book when, after a very long time away, I had no confidence that I could ever find my path in academia.

Impossible to overstate what a wonderful event this was to be a part of. Humbling to be asked to sit on the panel; even more so when hearing audience poets share their own words. Courageous, celebratory fare on . - more, please!

Right - today we celebrate the female poets who've inspired us, changed us, given us hope, made us feel less alone... On my list there's Tracy K Smith, Imtiaz Dharker, Charlotte Mew, Katherine Philips, Emily Dickinson, Sylvia Plath... and so many more... Yours?

I like this review. Particularly the 3 year old’s verdict... ‘I’m so happy’. Me too.

Gorgeously looked after at last week. Delighted that the new Night Garden Live show, which I wrote, is now open... If you have little people in your life, hope you enjoy... It was a privilege to take my children at the weekend (and I got detailed notes from them both)

What a grey and dribbly day. Though the garden looks a deep green through the window, in all its seasonal confusion...
