Navigating the hospital, palliative care, and now nursing homes since March has been a huge challenge for so many reasons. We have so much work to do to improve how we care for the elderly in Canada.

We moved my grandpa into a nursing home 3 weeks ago. He’s there first new resident since COVID closed things down. The experience is really highlighting for me how dependent this system is on volunteers to bridge gaps in care.
