It just depends on your bale weight and how heavy you make your squares. 1,000 lb round bale will have twenty 50 lb square bales. We usually get about 17-18 out of a 4x5 and 23-25 out of a 5'x 67" tall bale. We rebale all bermudagrass hay. (coastal, jiggs, tifton 85, etc)

It will shatter too bad and you'll lose too many leaves. Also with it cured and dry even if you could get it into the baler with leaf the plunger head would smash it and all the leaves would be at the bottom of the square bale.
