Almost hysterical Saudi threatening response to Trump warning of hard US action against perpetrators of Khashoggi murder suggests to me Saudis have something BIG they are desperate to hide. What was Khashoggi working on?

We will see... since Saudi’s did not even hold that much T-bills anymore (Brits held more) And US T-Market size means Saudi’s holding will be recycled in 8 hours.

Their oil pricing in dollars is a big part of why USD is reserve currency. A switch could hurt us bad. But then we'll pull our navy and it'll be open season. Instant US shale dominance. Again.. bad for everyone. Least bad for USA. We'd have to cut our budget tremendously though.

If true, I guess that both MbS and the Trump administration are happy to get rid of him. So I am in favour of grand theatre acted by all three parties involved, US, Turkey and KSA. There won't be any consequences other than a high oil price btw.

MbS has been aggressively developing SWIFT alternative (think PetroGold): Feb '18: "The kingdom’s central bank... ...signed an agreement with US fintech company Ripple last week, to run a pilot project to help banks settle payments using blockchain."

Nobody understands blockchain, and so everyone nowadays pays some consultants to jump on the bandawagon, just to be on the safe side and not to miss out.

Typical Saudi response under Mohammed bin Salman. Doesn't necessarily mean anything big is involved. They went completely off the graph when Canada made a simple tweet about some women activists.

There might be more to it. Khashoggi was some sort of a double agent who wanted to overthrow the Saudis.

Blockchain distributed ledger system is v. well understood. Saudis went live in Sept w/ their blockchain vehicle for bank transfers that will extract them fr. SWIFT & Western controlled financial system. One month later, big probs. "Severe punishment"
