How do we #HoldThemToAccount❓ 14h
In today's Spanish press - by excellent Rafael Ramos. Headline: *The troika that's leading the UK* "Johnson provides the face, Gove works in the shadows & Cummings cracks the whip." 🗣️, the world is alert and they see what you're up to.

Wouldn’t like to hazard a guess, but the nearby species mix suggests ancient hedge. Would have to look at old field boundary maps. I think xx

Cameron/Osborne turned a blind eye to authoritarian China in part to appease the Brexit right. The UK was global, and not in hoc to the EU. Now the Brexit right want to make enemies not only of the EU, our natural allies, but China. Its beyond crass.

This anger is rather surprising, since I am told that they all knew what they were voting for.

Closely observing Stachys byzantina, Lambs Ears in the garden paid off. Two male wool carder bees(Anthidium manicatum)defending territory. Those abdominal spikes!

Wow! That's a whopper! Presumed Green-flowered Helleborine seen today. 9 flowering stems, also a couple of more normal sized plants (must have seen 100+ of varying sizes, several multi stems). Never easy to get a good photo as they tend to be shy.

Such a lot of history in those twisted stems. It looks as though it has been laid at some point. Lx 😘

Excellent personal diary read by ⁦⁩ brimming with sharp insight, the absurdity of her situation & ours, especially after witnessing the rapid response to the pandemic by contrast. The most lucid voice on the world stage.

Proper reporter. Asks proper questions. Keeps trying. And his lack of answers was far more revealing than the spin and bullshit being broadcast all day on the outlets to whom he gave interviews.

Eryngium maritimum in Herm. Not a common species in Guernsey, so it was surprise to see so much of it here

Yes, I agree with Leif; the sweet cicely has just about finished up here now. But it's one of the few Apiaceae that you can eat safely, the aniseed scent is unmistakeable and the seeds are very refreshing to chew
