This year's father's day is a sad one for me. My thoughts are with our brother Tamale Mirundi whose daughter, Moreen Mirundi passed on and has been buried today. The pain of losing a child is simply inexplicable.

Spare a moment and reach out to your neighbours, those without families and those who are less fortunate. In your supplications today, remember our country, and make prayers for the sick, the weak and the vulnerable who live amongst us. Eid Mubarak!

Always smiling, his life reflected Godliness and contentment- which as the old scriptures tell us, are great gain. He therefore leaves behind a solid legacy as a true patriot whom the younger generation of leaders can learn from.

In 2017, he fortified this position when he indicated his strong opposition to removing the presidential age-limit. In fact, his life after public service proved that one can serve in a powerful position, leave office and live a dignified life as a private citizen.

Towards 2011, Prof. Nsibambi publicly stated that he had requested President Museveni not to reappoint him, because he believed that leaders should retire after making their contribution.

Those who worked closely with him speak of him as a man who kept time and kept his word- traits which are extremely scarce with our political leadership. He set precedent for us that we must take on without question.
