We wish Şiban & Turgut a speedy recovery: It is our duty to bring to account those responsible for such inhumane crimes against people!

Kurdish farmers O.Şiban & S.Turgut who were taken into custody by military personnel in Van on Sept 11, were found 2 days later at an intensive care unit. Hospital's report has now clearly confirmed that the 2 men had been thrown from a helicopter while they were under custody.

HDP is ready to act for peace & a democratic solution. We know that peace is not just about bringing the conflict to a halt. What we mean is a joint plan that will silence weapons, and also steps taken together for a solution of the century-old Kurdish issue.

Peace should not be seen only as a demand of the , or the . We know very well that if we cannot achieve peace, we cannot achieve democracy in either. The solution to the Kurdish issue cannot be separated from the issue of democracy.

Turkey urgently needs a Great Peace Movement. For this reason, we invite all intellectuals, academics and artists who are willing to take action to make a stronger effort than ever, reach out to all sides and nurture a free discussion.

The Kurdish issue is too vital to be left only to the mercy of the government and the state. We value the recent statements of opposition parties both from inside and outside the parliament. Yet bolder, more advanced steps than the government itself are needed.

Today, from parliament, we once again appeal to all forces: If Turkey can solve the issue, it will become a rising democratic model. A peaceful solution emerging from our country will enable important steps to be taken for democracy and peace across the Middle East.

The dripping of deaths of Turkish prisoners with political processes is despairing. was the last one. Hopefully the last. Turkey's pro-European civil society needs our full support. Let's not confuse TK with its government.

The AKP government's social media draft, currently debated in parliament, will impose an even tighter grip on social media if it passes. After consolidating control over traditional media, the AKP now wants to muzzle Twitter & Facebook. Say no to censorship!

Hagia Sophia is part of humanity's cultural and historical heritage. Converting it into a mosque is a mistake. With its decision, the Council of State has become a part of the AKP's propaganda machine. The decision should be reversed now: is not a political tool.

A sad day for Christians & for all who believe in a pluralist Turkey. The decision to convert into a mosque will make life more difficult for Christians here and for Muslims in Europe. Hagia Sophia was a symbol of our rich history. Its dome was big enough for all.
