The male suspect, 17, who had suffered non-life threatening injuries, was later captured by deputies in the parking lot of a hospital. The female suspect is believed to have entered a Jeep (possibly black and white) and fled the area. Investigators are actively searching for her.

The 3rd party vehicle was occupied by two individuals; the passenger sustained minor injuries, but the driver, possibly a rideshare driver, was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The driver of the initial vehicle being pursued was later detained at a nearby hospital.

One of our units attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle who failed to stop. A pursuit ensued on the westbound feeder of the Katy Fwy (18211 blk). The suspect driver made an evasive movement therefore causing the deputy to strike a third party vehicle.

Deputies receive 100’s of calls a month regarding homeless issues. We agree much of this work should be directed to social service agencies, but until that void is filled & the 911 calls keep coming, our HOT provides a compassionate response to these very complex issues.
