the only mistake made last night was the jar of ginger nuts put in my dressing room.which aren't part of my diet.. I was very good though & didn't touch them until 7pm. Then I weakened & ate one. Trouble was that the 7 remaining biscuits looked very lonely , so I ate them as well

I couldn't have wished for a finer venue and audience for my final UK Piano Odyssey concert. A unique and wonderful venue and the whole complex is well worth a visit .

I'm really looking forward to the final Piano Odyssey concert at Snape Maltings tonight. The last time I played there was over 40 years ago which means if they wait another 40 years to book me again I'll be 110.

All day today I'll be working on Christmas Portraits . I found some tinsel this morning and have hung some on the piano to make a bit of a Xmassy atmosphere. I've also found a very old Xmas pudding so if I can find some custard ..........that'll be dinner sorted !

Yesterday we went looking at sofas in a local store. I explained to my lovely wife that just now we don't need another sofa. She said she fully understood & we drove home. I asked her this morning what she wanted to do today & apparently we're going to Norwich to look at sofas

Just read back my last tweet. It's not relaxing at all so I'll do all that tomorrow except the football and bath bit .

Today I'm going to try and relax a bit. I am going to write my column for Prog Rock magazine, go shopping with the missus, do some more work on the Christmas Portraits album and watch the football results unfold on the telly and then finish the day off with a long hot bath

Harry is really missing George. He has slept by George's photo since the day we lost him. When you lose such an amazing family pet , it's really tough to try and get life back on an even keel.

What a fabulous time at the National Cat Awards yesterday. The stories the families of the nominated cats just show that they have senses we don't and also know how and when to use them. We humans can learn so much from animals.

I'm with you Peter....it's definitely not worth it , but it's all about money , power and business......as usual we were lied to as regards the cost of HS2 and it's impact . No change there then .

Off to the National Cat Awards today. A wonderful event and always a joy to be a part of the judging team. I shall sit throughout the ceremony with so much admiration for the winners , and in my heart quietly give a special award to our George .

Braving Greater Anglia yet again today. They cancelled my train this time last week & I ended up missing a very important appointment. I feel for the genuinely lovely staff whose Greater Anglia bosses hide & can't face up to the reality that their rail service is very poor

The onion / vegetable soup is no more . I'm going to give soups a rest for a few days , possibly weeks and try the 5/2 diet which in my case will probably mean 5 days of starvation and 2 of eating stuff I don't like .
