Gonna log off for a little while. At least until I can think of a reason to log back on. Becoming increasingly harder to make that justification these days. This site brings out the worst in me, and brings the worst in others to my attention. Might be time to call it a day.

(Most importantly, please stop harassing the people involved. I let emotion overcome me in the moment, but I don’t wish ill will upon them, so don’t tell yourself you’re doing so on my behalf.)

I’m trying to correct this. I’m sorry people harassed you. I deleted all my tweets from earlier.

She tweeted “expose him” at me.

So both of you are joking that it would have been better if I had denied and shifted blame?

Almost all of this is incorrect.

I made a hypocritical career decision. I tweeted about it (as the result of a panic attack) before there was any onus on others to do so. I had no publicist. There was no coordination. I was a dude racked with guilt trying to acknowledge my mistakes. I’ll take those hits.

I tweet “Fuck you” at Trump on a regular basis. It’s stupid, but I’ve done so for years now. He has approximately 62,976,000 more followers than I do. I tweet at him with the understanding that if he ever responded and his followers went after me that would be by my own doing.

Deleted my tweets from earlier. Kicked the hornet’s nest out of frustration, and immediately regretted it. I will leave these two thoughts hanging:

I don’t disagree. I talk to friends and therapists about it regularly. I will tell you it’s the type of situation I viewed very differently when I hadn’t lived through it myself. Truly appreciate you talking with me. Constantly trying to do better. Have a good night.

I’m always happy to talk. I am not an antagonistic person at heart. Sean blew me off with the same jokes. Esther didn’t respond at all. I was at a breaking point of frustration. I’m not a brand account. I’m a person who has been shouldering these consequences for years now.

I’m sure I will get mocked even more for trying to explain myself to you, but I understand those are the repercussions of being online.

I feel regret every hour of my life. That one decision will haunt me until I die. I tried to own up to it before there was a public onus for everyone else to do so. I own the repercussions, but I’m not numb. If someone keeps poking at that bruise I will respond emotionally.

You have not dealt with the same level of harassment. I’m not arguing that I made “the right call” but it’s easy to say what you would have done in someone else’s shoes when you have not lived through that daily experience for several years.

I have received several years of harassment on Twitter for this very subject. I understand that comes with the territory of the decisions I made. I own that. I have not locked my account. Sean could have stopped after I chose not to respond back in May. He did not.

I gotta say that I spent several months ignoring his provocations. If someone continues tweeting at me I assume that they’re looking to get a response. When I tweet antagonistic stuff at people who have many more followers than I do I understand that I may receive their blowback.

So you’re just angry that I still have any sort of career? Do you feel the same way about everyone who worked with him and then later regretted it?
