Policy prescription: 1) Jobs (give them purpose & socialize them so these young men & women keep themselves busy, preferably something that absorb adrenaline & energy) 2) Housing - build housing to allow people that work basic jobs to afford so they have something to protect.

More criticism of mayors of cities & how despite "progressive" agenda has led to rather regressive results.

Christopher Wray seems to be every bit as incompetent as his predecessor....perhaps the documented zeal and energy the FBI senior leadership put into going after a retired 3 star General could, perhaps, have been directed at domestic terrorism?

And to be clear: this is not a twitter bubble thing. I've heard the same from people that supported Trump but aren't even on this ridiculous platform. When Day One MAGA types start losing faith, you're in some serious trouble.

Horror story after horror story of immigrant shops being looted and attacked by college white kids. From the main newspapers: mostly silence

Some of the most ardent Trump supporters on this site are furious with him and being incredibly vocal about it privately. This is the exact opposite of what he promised—there is no way to spin churches and businesses getting torched, and the people he needs to win are noticing.

Anyone who thinks these riots are helping Trump are deceiving themselves. Riots are a useful visual when you're running on *restoring* law and order. When you're president and do nothing while they happen under your watch, it doesn't work that way. Just listen to Trump's base rn

I am so sorry. Having had hearing problems at times, this is such a cruel blow to a vulnerable community

I used to go here all the time when I lived on H Street. It is the first Starbucks with an all American Sign Languge fluent staff. A favorite spot for all the Gallaudet students (D.C.’s school for the deaf & hearing impaired). This sucks.

4 weeks ago, I had a National Guardsman (by Mayor Bowser’s order) ask me to not sit on an empty park bench.

You do not need to be Napoleon or Radetzky to know that something more is required now to restore order and enforce law....and that these are not “protesters” ‘protesting’

Because its 2020; black women are mayors of the region's two major cities (Atlanta and Charlotte). Bull Connor has been dead for 47 years. The urban South is functionally a relatively integrated part of the US compared to large northern cities.
