Travelers on Hwy 89 b/w Moose and Moran should expect delays. Park rangers are using the road to facilitate movement of 15-20 bison south from areas with deep snow to areas in the park with better forage. please drive carefully and observe instructions from rangers on scene.

Hwy 89 between Moose & Moran is now open. Rotary snow plows will be operating on the road, which is still snow packed & slick. Drivers are advised to use caution, drive slowly, & watch for plows. Please stay tuned to weather forecasts & road status. Road info-307.739.3682.

Wow- as our crews are working this morning, the snow banks along Hwy 89 are almost 9 feet high in areas. We are actively working to open the road, but it continues to snow heavily and is windy. The road between Moose and Moran is closed. Park Road Info Line 307-739-3682.

Hwy 89 between Moose Jct and Moran Jct continues to be closed. Road crews are working to reopen the road, but their efforts have been complicated by a semi-trailer truck that violated the closure last night and became stuck in the drifted snow. Call 307.739.3682 for updates.

Please drive slowly in the area north of Snake River Overlook! This morning we worked with Wyoming Game and Fish to move wild bison from private land to areas in the park with better forage. At this point, the bison are still near the road in this area.

Hwy 89 between Moose and Moran is open. Grand Teton National Park and Wyoming Game and Fish personnel successfully moved wild bison along Hwy 89 to access southern areas of natural forage. Thanks to all who helped, and for everyone's patience to make this safely happen.

In the wake of the largest snowstorm so far this winter, rangers remind backcountry users to recreate responsibly. On some days travel in avalanche terrain is simply not advised. Rangers conducted a rescue on one of those days earlier this week. Story: .

Shout out to park employees for moving snow and managing our roads and facilities for safety! Please slow down and be an alert driver-especially for our crews with large equipment. Roads are snow covered and slick, with limited visibility in some places, with light snowfall.
