Yesterday I visited South River Bridge. This bridge carries 6,400 cars per day, but has barrels in place to keeps cars from driving over damaged fascia beams. We must invest in our infrastructure or our bridges will continue to deteriorate and put our communities at risk.

This morning I signed a bill designating a portion of the M-10 freeway as the Memorial Highway. I’m honored to be able to to honor everything Aretha did for the city of Detroit and our state.

We’ve seen ugly, racist attacks against & other congresswomen of color coming from the White House this past week. What Michiganders & people across the country want are leaders that will solve problems and that celebrate the diversity that makes our country strong.

It's been 130 days since we introduced the , and the legislature still hasn't offered any real solutions to the problems Michiganders face. Michiganders deserve good roads, clean drinking water, a good public education, and a path to opportunity. Let's get it done.
