Governor JB Pritzker Mar 14
The crowds & lines O’Hare are unacceptable & need to be addressed immediately. since this is the only communication medium you pay attention to—you need to do something NOW. These crowds are waiting to get through customs which is under federal jurisdiction

To the frustrated people trying to get home, I have spoken with the mayor and our Senators and we are working together to get the federal government to act to solve this. We will do everything within our power to get relief.

The Feds are pretty busy right now with corrupt Illinois politicians.

They need to look at the corruption in the administration. Illinois is child’s play compared to that.

To the people demanding the governor act: US customs and TSA are FEDERAL jurisdiction. The state of Illinois and city of Chicago can't fix it. This is up to DHS to address. And it's something that should have been addressed BEFORE announcing the half-assed closed border policy

He can fix it by shutting down the airport

or...and I know it is hard to imagine...you could fight to have more local control, and thus not be subject to CDC regulations that slow the process of getting testing products to your state. Federalism is still the best idea.

The federal government is still in charge of our borders and immigration processing, which is what Pritzker is referring to. States have no role in that.

It is not a matter of inconvenience. It is a matter of safety. Such crowding is exactly what spreads infections. Shows horrible planning
