It appears most of the levees are holding, there has been some toppage – Katy Trail has flooding, railroad has flooding, some road closures including HWY 94. Keep up with closures via . Follow ALL instructions from local officials.

The Missouri River crested earlier today. Spent part of the morning with Director Sandy Karsten viewing the flooding along the Missouri River outside Jefferson City & Boonville.

Carl Junction has dozens of homes damaged from the storm. We met with some of the local residents in the Briarbrook subdivision to witness the destruction. Glad to have partners like , , and helping Missourians across the state.

If you need shelter tonight in the Jefferson City area please stop by the Thomas Jefferson Middle School or . Staff from the Governor’s Office volunteered at our local shelters in Jefferson City and helped support residents whose homes were damaged.

There was NO DAMAGE to the Missouri State Capitol from last night’s tornado and severe storm. Please know the covering around the Capitol is designed to rip when winds exceed 50MPH. This prevents lifting and damaging to the scaffolding and building.

We just toured damaged areas in Eldon & met Police Chief Kidwell, Miller Co Sheriff Gregoire & volunteers who are already working to assist their neighbors affected by the storms there. We also spoke by phone to family members of the Golden City residents who lost their lives.
