@dansilver_ @NUFC_Index without NUFC there to give them 6 additional points this season they're doomed!

@NUFC_Index half that league has been in and out the Premier League since then!

@FPLHints likewise. We all know how this ends: the reverse of when I captained him last week with Walcott as VC!

@CMRLee @ehaaramo @guardian I think we're going. Eeva's very excited about it!

@reneritchie Bless.
Gordon Kelly
Gordon Kelly @GordonKelly
@reneritchie Wow, what they say about you *is* true.
Gordon Kelly
Gordon Kelly @GordonKelly
@reneritchie sorry, now you're just showing you don't understand your topic. You really should not be writing 'explainers' on this.
Gordon Kelly
Gordon Kelly @GordonKelly
@reneritchie subheading: 'Which has nothing to do with parallelism' ;)
Gordon Kelly
Gordon Kelly @GordonKelly
@reneritchie no, that would miss the point (steady state irrelevant). Next headline: 'Apple uses low quality storage in 32GB iPhone 7' - and
Gordon Kelly
Gordon Kelly @GordonKelly
@reneritchie choosing not to update is "non-helpful" -should say: parallelism irrelevant in this speed bracket, it's cheap NAND, you'll live
Gordon Kelly
Gordon Kelly @GordonKelly
@reneritchie I'm not wrong. Parallelism is how you get SSDs into GB/s speeds not MB/s! 32GB has cheap storage, shouldn't happen at $ tag.
Gordon Kelly
Gordon Kelly @GordonKelly
@reneritchie and isn't "non-issue" disingenuous? Big difference between "most won't notice" and lack of transparency over model differences.
Gordon Kelly
Gordon Kelly @GordonKelly
@reneritchie again, sorry but you're swallowing the Kool Aid. Trying to be friendly. Please fix your article errors, parallelism irrelevant.

Gordon Kelly @GordonKelly
@reneritchie sorry Rene, that's a little insulting. I used to test PC components and NAS for a living. Your article is completely off-base.
Gordon Kelly
Gordon Kelly @GordonKelly
@reneritchie in short: it's cheap NAND, just like it's cheap sapphire (where integrity hit by impurities). Not world ending, but 'sub-Apple'

@reneritchie Same on many benchmarks. PassMark is accurate.

@reneritchie *256GB not 25GB (typo)
Gordon Kelly
Gordon Kelly @GordonKelly
@reneritchie simple: cheap chips. Fast read NAND costs nothing, premium comes from write speeds and random writes. Apple saved £££ on 32GB.
Gordon Kelly
Gordon Kelly @GordonKelly
@reneritchie here's a Google Pixel XL 32GB - note read speeds in line with iPhone 7 25GB read speeds and write is where is *should* be.

Gordon Kelly @GordonKelly
@reneritchie has nothing to do with parallelism at these speeds. Beyond 500MB/s maybe...
Gordon Kelly
Gordon Kelly @GordonKelly
@reneritchie you've no limits in memory bandwidth with the bus & architecture (hence the read speeds), low value NAND is writes limiter. It

Gordon Kelly @GordonKelly
@reneritchie sorry, it is an issue. It's disguised cost cutting and the errors in your article should be acknowledged & updated.
Gordon Kelly
Gordon Kelly @GordonKelly
@reneritchie & has nothing to do with USB 2 or 3, it's internal storage - limited only by bus + chip architecture. This comment nails it:

Gordon Kelly @GordonKelly
@reneritchie sorry Rene, that's nonsense. You don't need lots of parallelism to get 300MB/s+ SSD speeds. I've 10 yrs exp bmarking components

@CarlosMCSE indeed. Pixel represents an exciting new dawn in that respect - clean, no bloat, instant updates. V creditable iPhone rival.
Gordon Kelly
Gordon Kelly @GordonKelly
@CarlosMCSE @droid_life odd. Perhaps it was a carrier bloated model (Verizon?). You can remove a lot of stuff, but yes Samsung still bloats.
Gordon Kelly
Gordon Kelly @GordonKelly
@CarlosMCSE that's a faulty device then.

Gordon Kelly @GordonKelly
@CarlosMCSE PS congrats and good storage pick 😉
Gordon Kelly
Gordon Kelly @GordonKelly
@CarlosMCSE about 5GB used on latest Samsungs, about 2.5GB used on Pixel.
