Your view point is politely and persuasively argued and in many respects is a good example of engaging in the public square with impact.

We don’t change people by shouting . We don’t persuade by silencing. We don’t usually get people to self-appraise through anger or condemnation . Conversations and dialogue are the only way . I would love a few pints with those rugby lads to chat rugby & and viewpoints.

As you well know John, I am very keen on rugby, & the New Testament. As you also know, I supported in a public way, legal changes that strengthened the bonds of love for couples irrespective of their sexuality. The Jesus encounters in the NT, were one of the decisive helps 1/2

I am so saddened by the passing of my friend Senator Fergal Quinn. He was indefatigable, a gentleman and an extraordinary Independent Senator. It was a privilege to save the Seanad with him.

Saddened to hear the news that Feargal Quinn has passed away. An absolute gentleman who always stopped for a chat in Leinster House to comment on any flashy tie I was wearing.

At Lyra McKee’s funeral, Fr Magill asked why it took the death of an innocent young woman, for people of all sides in NI and politicians of all hues, to show solidarity in opposing those who want a return to the past. The political impasse must end now
