As scientists in training we were told the Bengal rice famine was caused by a plant disease outbreak. Only found out later through own research that it (and Irish potato famine) were caused by colonial English food policies.

I suggest and might benefit from taking this course and doing its readings rather than mocking it based on a course description. But that might require effort, thought and respect, something neither of them seem to produce much of these days.
