So the upshot is, if his back checks out, I don’t think any of this other stuff is a reason a team won’t take him. (not ctd)

Those issues aren’t likely to exist in whatever NBA locker room he enters. The NBA sees a guy like Porter every year. Sometimes more than one. So he isn’t this anointed savior that’s separate from everyone else from the first second he’s on the team. (ctd)

He didn’t create that. Now, were there some issues once he got here? Sure. But how many of them stemmed from the constant continuation of “Mike and the other guys” from the fanbase and, yes, again, from the media that covered the team? (ctd)

Porter went to the school in his home town that was coming off an historic level trash heap of seasons and looking for something to latch on to as hope for the future. Mike was that hope. And from Day 1 it was “Michael Porter Jr. and the other guys.” (ctd)

From the second he asked out at Washington, fans (and, yeah, media) put expectations on this kid that very, very, very few athletes have ever had put upon them. Bagley was one of a handful of studs. Ayton went to a place they were used to having guys like him (ctd)

Some thoughts just occurred to me RE: MPJ and the character/locker room issue. The NBA’s gonna be a whole different game than college. Yeah, he’ll be a lottery pick, but he isn’t gonna be put on the same kind of pedestal in the pros that he was this year in CoMo (1/??)

My mock draft: 1. DeAndre Ayton Somewhere From 2-7: Michael Porter Jr. All other picks: A lot of guys I enjoyed in college that I will rarely watch play again.
