TWO compliments! Babe, and radiologist. Thank you.. Fetal radiologist I might add. Explains the staunch defense of my little patients.

Being a woman and a radiologist are two major compliments and one major accomplishment. And yes - that background information would add a lot of context.

However, I think you can understand the cause for concern the general public has when a radiologist that works for a catholic association makes broad statements about obgyn health care. That was my knee jerk response & I’m sorry I didn’t take more time.

You are very kind, Catherine. Twitter is full of good people who disagree but treat each other with respect!

I'd say tell that to Savita Halappanavar...but she's dead because of Ireland's catholic Sharia law.

I came here to say the same. And I had a patient come in bleeding at 22 weeks. Heavily. Unsustainably. What would this radiologist have had us do?

I'm a radiologist, including fetal radiologist, with an ETHICAL agenda. When the fetus is your patient, you learn to love him or her and honor their life and dignity. Along with the mother's.

You can be told over and over that the fetus is expendable and only valuable when "wanted" by her mother. but when the fetus is your PATIENT, you see how unethical it is to safeguard some of them, and flush the others away.

If you were remotely ethical, you would understand that abortions after 20 weeks are done exclusively because a good radiologist does their job and reports on a dead, dying or malformed fetus that won't survive birth. You are a bad radiologist if you are hiding these things.

As a carpenter, if I disagree with my client, I still do what they ask. I may make a recommendation, but their wish is my command.

And if they asked you to build a gallows would you do it? Or a pornography studio for child porn? Just coming up with scenarios you might object to building

I wouldn't have taken the client in the first place. Also, I didn't swear an oath.
