Great myth busting edition of curated by my barnstorming colleague . Our smaller hospitals are quite big by international standards and our "left behind" communities desperately need them to survive and thrive.

The article concludes that it should be a carefully considered option for all trainees and offers reasons why. It also highlights the importance of contentment, not enslavement. Rural areas need and deserve good doctors and perhaps some might feel inspired by it.

I did a house job in West Cornwall Hospital, Penzance. It was great for all the reasons cites. I’m also from Alderney, a tiny island isolated by very poor air links. People are less demanding & more sanguine about poor outcomes. They’re not worse off for it.
