In the early'70s I saw a steel bodied mid-engine Ford at a Lincoln- Merc dealer in Bellevue, WA. The intent was to build 50 to race. But like the coming Pantera it wasn't designed for the big tires needed to keep from swapping ends. That car existed, but was evidently shelved.
