Two clarifications from university officials: 1. It was not tear gas. Police launched pepper balls that "contain powder with an irritant that disperses quickly." 2. The reported injury was from a thrown bottle.

Any journo covering what took place last night- it was NOT a protest. A large # of students gathered after it was announced UD housing would close for most students on Wednesday. Obviously, it was broken up by police.
