I asked Ned about the inattentiveness defensively on that play involving Lucas Duda that cost the Royals a run: “I think he just took for granted the ball was down the line when it got by him. He didn’t think that Whit would be there...(but) I don’t know if we (get the out).”

Royals lose a tough one, 5-4, to the Indians. Bubba Starling got his first MLB dinger. Jorge Soler hit No. 27. An error by Humberto Arteaga and some inattentiveness by Lucas Duda at first cost the Royals two runs and that was the difference. They are still 7-3 since the break.
