After I wrote my story, former City Attorney Louise Renne was floated as a possibility. The supes seem to think a former should be old (to make it less likely they'd run) and that may by nature of systemic sexism exclude women who had less opportunity for power decades ago

This is standard practice in expensive cities: upzone the poorest areas (maybe call it TOD?) and leave wealthier residential neighborhoods alone.
