Creepy AF and violates a number of protocols here in the US. Mainly, you always have to give informed consent for any procedure

I was told to use shampoo. Natural brushes are basically hair/fur so I just use whatever I’m using in my hair

That’s what having an author participate in a review discussion is like. It kills most discussion about the good and bad parts of a book. People get self-conscious because OMG WHAT IF THE AUTHOR HATES ME?!

But that said, if I loved Writer McWriterson & most of their books, & they came up to me & said “So what did you think of my book?” My answer, while honest, may not be complete. I may tell them I loved the romance, but I might not mention I thought the dark moment felt silly.

When I was reviewing I made it a personal goal to always focus on the book, not the author; and also to not write anything in a review I wouldn’t say to an author’s face.

The review could be 5-stars and glowing; Or it could be pages and pages of vitriol; Or it could be anything in between, but if the writer decides to participate in the discussion, it’ll kill it. People don’t want to give honest feedback with author watching. Esp one they usu like

I somehow found myself in a section of IG that’s all pictures and interviews and videos of Ellen Degeneres and Portia DiRossi wishing them a happy 11th anniversary. Watching how much they clearly love each other has been one of the best things I’ve seen in a long time.

My aunt and uncle got a pair of Great Danes when they were in the process of buying their house. They lived in a tiny 1BR apartment. Came home one day to find the entire corner of their mattress gone. Not in pieces. Not scattered. GONE. They are it all, stuffing, springs…ALL 😂

So the SERIES FINALE was last night. I have had an Season pass every season. For the first time in as long as I can remember, the new episode is NOT available the next day! It’s been nearly 24 hours AND STILL NOTHING!! I WANT TO SEE THE FINALE!

Stopped at Trader Joe’s tonight because I needed groceries. Came home with sparkling water, popcorn, and meringues. I…I don’t think I did it right.
