Best ever was a charitable donation, & I think I got to pick the recipient org from a list. Next best was a little bottle of single malt Scotch with a glass. (Maybe both of these were speaker’s gifts?) But really, I have too much stuff in my life and I don’t want more.

Yeah, right. You gotta watch out for those neutrinos! Seriously—if what you do for your dogs works for you/them, then great. Mine are urban, and so far what I do for them works for me & them.

Amazing. Before she led a software team for the Apollo mission, Margaret Hamilton also helped lay the foundation for chaos theory. As did mathematician and programmer Ellen Fetter. Story has quotes from Jennifer Light and Mar Hicks .

As someone with a high-res screen and older-guy eyesight, I can find lots and lots of display bugs in what I'd consider reasonable adjustments to the resolution and browser zoom level. Hit that Ctrl-+ key combination, Web testers.

I also ask for sharply defined text in deep colours, if you want me to visit your site. Fashionably muted colours hurt my aging eyes to read, and I won’t bother.

Rabies vaccinations are good for 3 years, and in Ontario at least, mandatory. For very good reason. And if you have ever seen a dog with distemper, you’ll know that it’s terrible. Some survive. Raccoons and skunks die of it regularly, and transmit it to dogs.

WE honour and pay tribute to the brilliant Judith Kerr. Together with her family she escaped Nazi Germany & took refuge in the UK. WE are reminded today, with great sadness, how fragile free movement, safe refuge and peace have been made by the far-right

Frustrated by numerous references to leaders as only belonging to the C suite. That notion needs to die. Call the C suite the direction team or other. By labelling management as leadership, you send a clear message to everyone else they are not leaders. Go read
