In September 2019 itself, we took a major step to bring down corporate tax rate. Even today, India remains as one of those countries with the lowest of corporate tax rates, the corporate tax methodology too has been simplified greatly - FM

We brought in the Document Identification Number - we have told that letters without DIN will not be valid. We gave the right to the taxpayer that what he/she gets is linked with the system, not based on some subjective whims and fancies. - FM

Only 0.25% of total income tax filers are scrutinized by tax authorities; between 2014 and 2020, the no. of scrutiny cases is coming down, we as a government take extreme satisfaction in respecting the taxpayer and move to simpler systems - Finance Minister
