It was really good to meet some new ladies at yesterday's support group meeting and to see some familiar faces. We had an interesting presentation from Dr Lakshmi Ratnam a consultant radiologist from St George's Hospital.

Do have an ultrasound for Fibroids, & always ask for the radiologists letter, as It will say the location, type, no & sizes & ovary condition. It’s useful, as it can be compared with later years assessments, to see if a treatment has helped

An is a useful tool for measuring & checking for other issues. It can be used to find surgical & to check on a pregnancy. Its an essential & underused tool in gynaecology.

Some useful diagrams of the womb & an explanation of the different types of ie Transabdominal ie from the top & transvaginal, via the vagina this can diagnose & measure the size, location & type of & can diagnose other issues
