According to a source, the White Sox have designated 1B Yonder Alonso for assignment. This coming only two hours after the team sent out a release touting Alonso's charity bowling event benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago and the Chicago White Sox Charities.

The Sox, after stepping on rakes all offseason and 1st half, DFA a vet just a few days before a charity event they themselves are promoting? Low class move.
They've waited this long — they can't wait 1 more series?
