I’ve been researching tile drainage in Indiana & its been super interesting. For instance, check out the sheer size of “tiles”. These images (1900) show the S.C. Cowgill Tile Factory In Summitville, IN- reportedly the world’s largest tile factory at the time.

We definitely need to get our soils in better health to deal with the excesses of the weather, in all its forms. Effective drainage is a key part of soil health in order for the biological and chemical processes to function properly!

Its getting hotter but also wetter according to the - "Over the last decade, our hot and cold seasons have been getting wetter than the long-term average with the summers seeing 13% more rain while the winters going up by 12%."
