I think I'm into double figures now for women who've told me that had that experience with him.

The Cons manifesto bizarrely attempted some faintly redistributive things around pensions and social care that were only going to back fire, plus bloody fox hunting lololol :)

It was the right manifesto, I suppose, there was enough there for people to go and door knock with. And it didn't have any bloopers, which the Conservative manifesto did.

In terms of Brexit I think there's a strong consensus that it just wasn't realistic. Personally I can get behind more investment in public services and higher tax, although I think Corbyn's approach to tax won't necessarily address inequalities in the way Marmot requires.

Never go full Paul Mason Actually I think Paul Mason is far preferable, he's not a bully and he still writes interesting articles. He's definitely reached parody levels and the Novara stuff was a giggleromp,

Owen Jones has managed to create a set of circumstances where his professional peers are telling him, publicly, that he's a bully and a twat. It's not ideal. Not what you want at the Xmas party really, or on the group cc email.

I really don't have a massive problem with his domestic policy stuff, I can't imagine we're very far apart. Unless he really does want to inflict Chavez/Maduro on us. I just wanted *some* symbolic compromise from him. But he can't/won't do it. Counterfire/SWP staff in office...

The obvious worry is that the Cons packed on millions of voters and the reasons I'd suggest for that look more sustainable than the 1-6 there. Should add to 1. is a manifesto which was broadly social democratic, undeliverable with some cynical giveaways to the middle classes.

As I say, a mixture of: 1. Labour returners who'd mouthed off but then voted Labour, like me 2. Summer of love madness 3. People voting thinking Lab were pro-Europe 4. People annoyed by May and awful Cons GE campaign 5. Corbyn having some appeal 6. LD&UKIP disappearing

If he gets rid of Milne, Stop the War, Andrew Murray, doesn't flirt with putting Chris fucking Williamson anywhere near power, then we wouldn't have a problem.

Do you not think that the majority of the public have always thought he's a nob, as demonstrated by his personal popularity ratings? I don't see how he can ever effect that because he's Jeremy and will always Russia and antisemitism.

What, that they're a cult? Hey, next time you're at work, slag off everyone who works hard in your profession, see how well that goes down.

I think he's a twat, yes, he decided to publicly denounce me on facebook as bully of women, which is a bit rich given his behaviour towards female journalists or young conservatives on here.

Similarly, set up a school paper, begged my way into local papers and local radio stations, took on debts to study, worked my arse off, and am damned if I’m going to be accused of shady elitism by an alumnus of University College, Oxford and former Parliamentary researcher.

Constantly shouting at Labour members that journalism is a cabal not to be trusted is a dangerous game, particularly when your stock in trade is polemic, not writing news. *ducks*

Half of me thinks you may be right, another half says that people simply rejected May and didn't want to give her a big majority. And it's hard to know whether any of that is relevant for a GE in 2022.

Oh I'm under no illusion, I have to live through a decade of this. The individual polls are just for a laugh really. Historically the opposition should be well ahead, but this doesn't matter for Corbyn supporters.
