Yes! Speeding down local streets does not give any driver enough time to react to ordinary but unexpected events. Slow down to save lives!

Let's talk about insurance outcome. Assume the kid was killed by the car instead & his parents sue the driver. Driver's insurance company will tell driver that if he couldn't or didn't stop in time he is at fault because he must have been driving too fast to stop in time.

Speeding is def an issue..but we need more awareness of the dangers of kids running into the road by green lights or not looking when they cross the st ..

You certainly mean that Streets should not be dangerous for anyone, and should not be crammed with parked cars on both sides reducing the drivers field of view so they can react better in case of anything happening so NO KID has to die for being kids? If that's the case I agree.

Why do we design our streets so we all, especially kids, have to navigate around 2-ton machines with 100s of HP available at the twitch of a foot while the operators senses are dulled and usually distracted? Car-centrism is a sickness.

Hope he is okay. Another danger I see in this video is the SUVs make it impossible for a child (or even adult) to see to get across the street and other drivers to see the child.
